Our canoes are adaptable and versatile for a wide range of canoeing.  Each canoe is custom built from scratch one at a time, and every step of the building process is done by us from start to finish using traditional materials and construction techniquesWhether your canoe will be used for hunting or fishing, general paddling, wilderness travel, or family use, it will be constructed to best fit your needs.

Base Model Pricing Includes the Following

All models are built using standard construction specifications which are suitable for most types of canoeing.  Upon special order, some models can be built in an ultra-light version reducing weight, or in a heavier weight version for rugged use. Some models are available in extra deep versions when carrying capacity is of concern.

Hulls are built from northern white cedar ribs and planking, eastern spruce inner gunwales, hardwood stems, and cherry or mahogany for the seats, thwarts, decks, and outer gunwales.

The cedar interior and hardwood trim are finished bright with a durable marine varnish.  All canoes are covered in a seamless mid west duck canvas that is filled with a proprietary canvas filler and painted to your choice of color.

Each canoe comes with hand caned seats, hand made thwarts, and the bow and stern ends are protected with a brass bang plate.  Only the highest quality marine grade paints, varnishes, hardware, and brass and bronze fasteners are used throughout.

Forms, Designs, and Inspiration

cedar canvas canoe forms

We build our canoes on proprietary forms that have been designed, lofted, and constructed by us. They are based and inspired from our own personal wilderness canoeing endeavors and from the traditional wooden canoes that were once used by woodsman and thriving recreation markets across North America.

You can read more about the canoe trips we have done in the About Us section. Some of these trips have ranged from a few days in length to nearly 8 weeks and as far away as the arctic ocean. There is no better place to learn how a canoe handles, and what makes a good design element other than being on the water in all types of conditions.
